The design question

How can a dashboard help users identify what deserves attention without overwhelming them?

What it needed to do

  • Show what changed since yesterday at a glance.
  • Let users drill into detail without losing their place.
  • Support a five-minute daily check-in, not only deep analysis.

The approach

A clear overview, progressive disclosure, and a consistent visual hierarchy keep the next action in focus.

01

Overview first

The landing view answers one question, “what needs my attention?”, with a short written summary before any charts.

02

Progressive disclosure

Cards expand into detail in place, so users never lose their position in the dashboard.

03

Consistent visual language

One color for positive change, one for negative, and neutral for everything else, so meaning never depends on decoding a legend.

04

Readable numbers

Tabular figures, clear units, and the comparison period printed beside every metric.

What we’d measure

  • Time taken to find a specific metric
  • Daily return usage
  • Drill-down views per session

Technical direction

React · TypeScript · Design systems. The preview is an interface study implemented in this website. A production product would require its own discovery, testing, and integrations.

What comes next

Testing the concept with intended users would help assess navigation, comprehension, and task completion. No user testing or business results are claimed for this exploration.
